This past week I gathered with some of the Exceptional Women in my life to celebrate Galentines Day. We played mahjong and sipped cocktails, then gathered in a beautiful, pink covered dining room to share a meal and exchange our favorite things. I kicked off the evening by sharing one of my favorite Jen Shoop musings - ‘A Woman of Substance’ - these words so beautifully and simply describe the type of women I want to surround myself with and the type of woman I want to be. May you stand still in your center 🤍
On my mind.
Our individual view of ourselves and our relationship with ‘work’. A topic that has come up many times in the Diana group chat — how do you introduce yourself? Do you share what your paid job is first? Or start with your favorite hobby or your side project? Is our personal introduction some subconscious value system we have placed on ourselves?
When I started the Artist’s Way I called my sister in-law, Blayne Macauley, who is a real live artist and I said “I am not sure why I am even doing this. I am not artistic and not trying to be an artist". She so kindly and quickly responded that being an artist is how you live your life. She told me that my “art” is how I carry myself, what I wear, how I decorate my home, how I gather, connect, nurture and elevate others. And, GOSH, her words were a gift. Suddenly, I AM an artist. Should I introduce myself as an artist?
On my socials.
Good things. I am not sure if it is just my online community, or me searching for the good, but I am seeing the light.

Making plans. Trying to make space to play mahjong with the girls, exercise, sleep and chauffeur my children to all of their sports and school activities. I feel each year the “calendar creep” gets worse — I am no longer trying to convince myself that ‘next month’ will be better, because I know it is not true. I am sitting in gratitude for so many wonderful communities in our life — multiple schools, sporting teams, social groups, neighborhood, volunteer, etc.
On my calendar.
I still cannot believe we are headed to New York this week for a Consult Club Event at YARA. While we are there we will be visiting with friends, enjoying our favorite restaurants, and gathering with the women of Diana. After NYC, we are headed to Cincinnati to pick up our newest family member - BOBBY (pictured above)! In March - Consult Club is headed to CHARLOTTE with Hannah Kluckhohn. We hope you can join us there!
Join us at a Consult Club Event or in the chat with any questions!
